Above: The front and back of Clifford T. Bell's 1935 California Drivers License. Besides clearly illustrating just how much a drivers license has changed over the years this document gives us the only written record of Clifford's physical description. All and all he was quite nondescript in appearance - down right average in fact. The back of the license also tells us that Clifford resided at his place of work - the California State Exposition Building - in Los Angeles. These living arrangements were not uncommon in those days. The exact location of Room 127a within the State Exposition Building has yet to be determined. |
